dynastop - distributes TCATS BNBL

DynaStop is a gpl licensed LINUX utility to examine IP4 based addresses for Exim and procmail for the purpose of filtering based upon patternistic rules defined by the administrator.

DynaStop will work with any mail transfer agent/utility (like DSpam) that can run external programs or inline filters (piped I/O) and respond to error codes. I would be most appreciative to anyone doing so and would like to share the medthod of incorporating DynaStop into their mail system. Full Credit and a link will be gladly provided.

Distributed Checksum Clearinghouses

The Distributed Checksum Clearinghouses or DCC is an anti-spam content filter that runs on a variety of operating systems. As of 2010, it involves millions of users, more than six hundred thousand client computer systems, and about 200 servers collecting and counting checksums related to more than 300 million mail messages on week days. The counts can be used by SMTP servers and mail user agents to detect and reject or filter spam or unsolicited bulk mail. DCC servers exchange or "flood" common checksums. The checksums include values that are constant across common variations in bulk messages, including "personalizations."

Spamcop's Block List of servers and addresses. Aggressive list. Likely to reject some legitimate email from ISP's with lax abuse departments.

dnsbl.njabl.org

NJABL.ORG's list of known and potential spam sources. Slightly more aggressive than SpamHaus.org, but reasonably conservative, well-maintained, and effective.

Virbl

Virbl is a project of which the idea was born during the RIPE-48 meeting. The plan was to get reports of virusscanning mailservers, and put the IP-addresses that were reported to send viruses on a blacklist.

countries.nerd.dk

The zone contains information which can be used to determine whether a given IP address resides in a given country, thus making it possible for the users to filter out mail from a specific country using standard methods. For example my own mailserver is configured to reject mail from hosts listed in cn.countries.nerd.dk, which means that I should reject most mail sent from or through a mail-server located in China.
